Holistic Birthwork & Advocacy

Studies have found that continuous one-to-one doula support is associated with shorter labours, fewer medical interventions (including induction and caesarean births), and a higher likelihood of physiological vaginal birth. Research shows that having postpartum doula support can help reduce your odds of experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety by up to 64% by providing the dedicated care you need during those first vulnerable weeks with your new baby.

The kind of support I offer -

As your doula, I oversee the holistic picture of pregnancy, birth & postpartum, and help you feel as prepared and comfortable as possible. My wish for you and all women, is that your birth journey is rooted in care, presence, and informed choice. That you are met with safety and love, so you can bloom into motherhood feeling connected, held, and empowered. I ensure women and families are not alone during this mighty transition, through offering holistic nourishment, bodywork, information-sharing, advocacy, and other support.

During my training at Da a Luz, I developed a broad understanding of the physiological, emotional, spiritual, and psychological layers of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. My training included an extensive exploration of normal birth physiology, the hormonal processes involved in labour, the importance of safety and connection for oxytocin, and the ways in which the birth environment and my presence can influence your birthing experience.

Research shows that continuous, one-to-one doula support throughout pregnancy, labour, and postpartum brings significant benefits for mother, baby, and family - including shorter labours, fewer interventions (including epidurals and caesarean births), and a higher likelihood of physiological vaginal birth.

As a holistic doula, my intention is to honour birth as a sacred, physiological threshold - where babies are welcomed in peace and deep attunement, and families feel resourced and empowered as they step into this profound initiation.

Placenta Magic

“I was lucky to receive Eliza's support after I gave birth to my first baby. My birth experience didn't go as planned and I was feeling like I needed more support in my postpartum period. I was really feeling the need to integrate my birth experience into my body and to not have to leave my newborn baby to do so. Eliza came to my home, brought nourishing treats and made me a herbal perineal spray after I was complaining about irritation, gave me nourishing body work sessions with my baby nursing beside me, and she listened and helped me process my birth experience. She then held a beautiful Closing of the Bones Ceremony for me and I felt like I was receiving a giant hug of love from her and my chosen loved ones. I felt like my body, soul and mind were able to come home and feel whole during a time filled with sleep exhaustion and depletion from being a new mother. I am so grateful for the nourishment and sacredness Eliza brought into my postpartum experience. I felt like I was able to recover and be a better new mother because of her support. Thank you Eliza, I highly recommend her services!” - Nicole, 28th August 2026
